Updated list of 2020 Dems
My preferred method choose of choosing a candidate is to listen to candidates, themselves, take them at face value, and make a selection based on what they say about themselves and their policies.
Reading opinion pieces and articles by 3rd parties is what makes us vulnerable to manipulation. This is especially true about articles that dissect the minutia of the candidates’ histories. In fact, every single candidate has things in their history that I don’t like. Any objective analysis based on histories would result in the candidates with the longest histories being the most distasteful. Of course, those articles about past transgressions are rarely objective. They are almost always attempts to profit by targetting pre existing biases.
Instead of relying on others to tell me about a candidate, I listen to the candidates themselves and form my opinions. I visit their websites, follow them on Twitter, watch them in town halls, watch the debates, read their op-eds and their books, watch their interviews, … I make my decision based on their policy proposals and other intangibles. Then, if they are elected, I will attempt to make them fulfill their promises. It’s our own participation after the election, not the candidates’ histories, that is the primary determinant of whether campaign promises are kept.
Anyway, this is a list of all of the 2020 Democratic Primary candidates with links to their websites and Twitter accounts. The list is in no particular order, except that the women are first, the candidates I most recently learned about are last, and the candidates who have withdrawn are last.
